Expert remedial work, crafted with precision
Failed sealed units are one of the most common problems in timber windows and doors: misty or foggy glass, condensation between the panes, draughts and poor thermal performance. Replacing the glazing units is often the quickest and most cost-effective way to restore clarity, insulation and comfort.
At Malbrook Joinery we manufacture and install high-performance replacement glazing units in our own Reading workshop. This means we can supply slimline double or triple-glazed units to suit virtually any existing timber frame — including period sash windows, casements, French doors, conservatories and roof lanterns.
We use only the finest low-E coated glass with warm-edge spacer bars and argon or krypton gas fill. Our slimline units (as little as 10–14 mm overall thickness) allow us to upgrade listed and conservation-area properties without altering the original glazing bars or sightlines, while achieving U-values as low as 0.9 W/m²K.
The entire process is carried out by our specialist team with minimal disruption — typically one day per property. Your existing timber frames and ironmongery remain untouched, yet you gain crystal-clear glass, dramatically improved insulation and the elimination of draughts and condensation for decades to come.
